2. Description of Service
Cashendar is a personal finance tool that connects to your bank accounts via Plaid and syncs transaction information to Google Calendar as all-day events. The Service creates a dedicated "Cashendar" calendar within your Google account, allowing you to see your spending alongside your existing schedule.
The Service requires you to authenticate with both Google (for calendar access) and Plaid (for bank account access). You can disconnect either service or delete your account at any time.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use Cashendar. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements.
4. User Accounts
To use Cashendar, you must sign in with a Google account. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security of your Google account credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Ensuring that the bank accounts you connect belong to you or that you have authorization to access them.
- Notifying us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or any systems or networks connected to the Service.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers or networks connected to the Service.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
- Use the Service to transmit any malware, viruses, or other harmful code.
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, etc.) to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use.
6. Third-Party Services
Cashendar relies on third-party services to function. By using Cashendar, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- Plaid: Your connection to bank accounts is facilitated by Plaid Inc. Your use of Plaid is subject to the Plaid End User Services Agreement. Cashendar is not responsible for Plaid's handling of your data.
- Google: Calendar event creation and management is performed via the Google Calendar API. Your use of Google services is subject to the Google Terms of Service.
We do not control and are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services.
7. Data Handling and Privacy
Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for detailed information about how we collect, use, and protect your data.
Key points:
- We do not store raw financial transaction data. Only cryptographic hashes are cached.
- All sensitive tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
- You can delete your account and all associated data at any time.
8. Not Financial Advice
Cashendar is not a financial advisory service. The Service is a convenience tool that displays your bank transaction data in Google Calendar format. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, or other professional advice.
You should not make any financial decisions based solely on information displayed by Cashendar. Transaction data shown in calendar events is sourced from your bank via Plaid and may not be complete, accurate, or up to date. Always consult your bank or a qualified financial professional for financial decisions.
9. Service Availability
We strive to keep Cashendar available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to:
- Scheduled or unscheduled maintenance.
- Third-party service outages (Plaid, Google, hosting providers).
- Factors beyond our reasonable control.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of any material changes.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:

- Transaction data displayed by the Service will be accurate, complete, or current.
- Any errors in the Service will be corrected.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CASHENDAR, ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, OR CONTRIBUTORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
- Financial losses resulting from inaccurate transaction data.
- Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account.
- Damages resulting from third-party service failures.
- Any other damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Cashendar, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the Service.
- Your violation of these Terms.
- Your violation of any third-party rights.
- Any content or data you provide through the Service.
13. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Cashendar operates, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Cashendar regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements and understandings.
